There is still an old Skool class, but very much depleted from a couple of years ago.

I just fancy progressing as a rider and to do that on today's tracks, you gotta ride today's bikes.

And honestly... They are soooo much better.

Totally agree with you, regarding new bikes being better, i can't argue that at all.
Progression over 25-30 years must mean something.
As i say, mabye in a another season or two, i'll give it a go.
Kinda have a daft idea in my head lol, ie,
doing it "thirty years later" type of thing,
by that , instead of when most raced when it first came to the uk-
'81, '82, '83 &'84, i want to race '11,'12,'13,&'14,
by which time i will be about 36, with somemore experience than i have right now.
Either way, new skool, old skool-its all good fun.

My thoughts exactly Dave......i began racing for the first time in 20 years only a month ago.

Initially i had my aero pro and then my cromo but i was so afraid to damage them

I picked up a second hand haro 124 cruiser and it is fantastic

In my first few races i came second,third and second again simply because i was not worried about damaging the bike.

To compete at 38 is my personal trophey and i am still a bmxer!!!!!

I must get down my local track at Mitcham. What new school bike would you recommend, not too expensive?

It really depends what you want to do.If you want to race then i would buy a redline,haro or my favourite...intense bikes.

Try a cruiser just for fun and they seem a nicer fit for older geezers.

Racing a bike from your collection is up to you but i didn't like it at all.....my comp 3's got filthy

I've got some old comp3s so I may start by having a roll around on one of my burners for starters. I enjoyed it at Bexhill track, but the track at Mitcham looks a bit more menacing!
